National Taitung University is located on the cleanest and most beautiful section of the east coast of Taiwan. Established nearly 70 years ago, we are proud of our many excellent alumni. NTTU aims to create a fostering learning environment where students find the inspiration needed to engage in learner autonomy while acquiring diverse skills needed to achieve their professional aspirations and make meaningful social contributions. Furthermore, by providing the most professional teachers, and linking local needs and resources to the development of the school’s features both in teaching and researches, we have made it one of our core goals to become added to the list of International Green Universities.

Education is our first priority. Required General Education courses compliment the Professional Courses offered by each department to provide students with the academic foundations needed to become well versed in both the humanities and the sciences.
“Special Courses” allow students to take classes in their majors and choose courses outside of their majors according to their preference so that they can pursue multiple academic fields. Students also have the option to earn bachelor degrees with minors or even double-major. Moreover, our unique national and international exchange programs help students broaden their horizons.
The unique and diversified curricula give students opportunities to learn across interdisciplinary lines, providing them with the academic advantage needed to be more competitive in their future careers.
Our library is a green building which has been ranking as one of the “Top 10 must-visit libraries in Taiwan”. The supportive learning environment, innovative facilities and extensive literary collections have inspired generations of excellent academic work.
NTTU’s Taitung campus, one of many campuses, is located in the heart of the city and is planned as Academia-industry Innovation Zone for promoting Academia-industry Cooperation. East Bio-economy Center was founded in order to build an Advanced Food-biotechnology Intern Factory in 2018. This office will provide service to local industries including those focused on R&D and pre-production before mass production. TT Maker and Food Bank are the two leading institutions where students can learn how to fulfill their dreams, and implement what they’ve learned in a broader social context.
Health is the foundation of everything. To encourage students to exercise regularly, we have built state of the art sports facilities which have gained a great reputation among students and Taitung’s local citizens. We at NTTU believe that engaging in physical activity can result in a healthier student body.
NTTU provides the best, the most comfortable accommodation for students to live in. There are two dormitories, the First Student Dormitory, and the Second Student Dormitory, at the main campus at Zhiben, and one dormitory, the Zhongxiao Building, at the City campus. Freshmen students are given priority registration in the dormitories. Dormitories are managed by the Student Council, an autonomous organization composed by the students, so that students can learn to be independent and cultivate their self-confidence.
Eastern Taiwan offers splendid nature and rich cultural experiences to all who visit. NTTU, at the center of this beauty, is just waiting for you to join in the journey with us.

Taitung welcomes you.
